All Grown Up

This picture was taken at Emily's 8th grade promotion ceremony. She looked so grown up that it brought tears to my eyes, much to Emily's dismay. Ha Ha She looked so confident and happy and I was so proud of her.

Emily is all ready for high school. She already has her first homework assignment, a book report due when school starts in August. She has already practiced with the high school volleyball team and will be meeting with them during the summer. She is excited about attending seminary with friends from our ward and stake. And she is very excited about meeting new friends in high school.

And I have discovered the true meaning of "bittersweet." I am so happy for her to have such a positive outlook as she enters high school. I am so proud of what a smart, beautiful young lady she has become. But as she pointed out to me, she will be leaving home in four more years....and that just seems way too soon for me.
