My sister Sharilyn has always loved photography and has some really spiffy cameras with really fancy lenses. These cameras take amazingly sharp pictures from far, far away.
Today my girls and a friend learned to use those fancy cameras....and it was LOADS of fun! Within five minutes of using one of the cameras, each of them expressed a desire to one day own one of these cameras. They took literally hundreds of pictures today. We ran out of time so Sharilyn is going to download them and we'll go back next week to check them all out.
During the day, Sharilyn and I noticed that each of the kids had their own photography style. She and I talked about how everyone seems to gain a different perspective of the world after looking at it through a camera lens. They see things that they used to walk right by and not even notice. It was exciting to watch that transformation come over the kids.
We also took pictures with our regular, every day point-and-shoot digital cameras. These are my favorite photos from my camera. Enjoy!
Personally, I thought the buffalo were pretty neat, even if they didn't move much. Must be that Wyoming upbringing...
The baby in front kept trying to nurse and his mom was trying to eat the grass. Every time she tried to walk away, there was Junior trying to nurse, pulling her back. She started trying to push him away (pry him off?) with her rear legs. He wasn't going anywhere, though. It was pretty funny.

This was the view across the road. The kids spent considerably more time here. I couldn't figure out the attraction.

Heather has always loved viewing the cotton fields. She always grabs some cotton fluff from the ground, but she was told she could pick one of the "cotton balls" off the plant. She was thrilled!

Carson and I chased this butterfly around the lawn. He had the nice camera, though, so I hope his picture isn't so blurry.

Looking up at the trees we could imagine we were somewhere warm. Though by the time we were done, it was 30 degrees warmer outside than when we started. Yahoo!
