Emily and I attended a wedding reception tonight. The bride's father was the bishop of the singles ward I attended many, many years ago. (In fact, the bride was born while her father was the bishop of the singles ward.)
I had some amazing experiences and some even more amazing friends while I attended the singles ward. Those were some of the best years of my life. My testimony of the gospel became strong during those years. I made great friends who provided strength and support in my daily struggles. I love them dearly, but as we got married, started our families, and went our separate ways we forgot to stay in touch. I have missed those friends.
But tonight at the reception I was able to see so many people I haven't seen in years. It was so much fun!! It was so good to catch up with everyone. And we have all decided that our kids grow older at a faster rate than we do. Ha Ha
Toward the end of the reception, the deejay announced that the bride would be throwing her bouquet. All the young girls joined her on the dance floor. I was talking with a friend across the yard, but as I looked up I saw Emily catch the bouquet!! She is only 14! She is not allowed to be the next to get married.
Luckily, Emily was as horrified at the thought of her getting married as I was. However, she was pretty happy about the flowers. She put them in water as soon as we walked in the door.
