A 12-year-old New Year's Eve

Our church hosts an annual New Year's Eve dance for the youth ages 14-18.  Megan and her best friend knew their older brothers and sisters were planning to attend the youth dance this year so they asked if they could ring in the new year together.  Little did I know they would plan a rather strange mixture of snacks.

Megan has a donut obsession and frequently has donut cravings.  She received a donut maker for Christmas that will allow her to meet those cravings more easily.  Megan and Abby decided to make donuts for New Years.

Like a waffle iron, only cooler!

Cinnamon and sugar coating.  Yum!

Chocolate goes with EVERYTHING, even New Years.

And apparently french fries go with donuts.  Who knew??

We love the seasoning salt on french fries at a local hamburger joint.  Uncle Devon bought some for us to use at home.  Abby clearly approves!

The final event:  donuts, fries, Kool-Aid and Sorry!

I learned that my ancient stomach is not quite as caste iron as the stomachs of my 12-year-old party companions.  However, it was a fun night.  Here's to 2012!
